Charlie, Charlie is a 2015 Indian Malayalam-language drama film directed by Lal Jose and written by Shyamaprasad. The film stars Mohanlal and Manju Warrier in pivotal roles. The story revolves around the relationship between an old age couple, who are in love but go through many ups and downs to maintain their bond. Charlie is a story of love, romance, mischief and betrayal in an ecosystem where everyone has something to hide from each other. The protagonist of the movie is Charlie (Mohanlal), a casino entrepreneur turned construction magnate, who has come back to Kerala after 35 long years away from his home state Kochi with a plan to take over his old empire once again. Charlie is a widower and has a grown up son, Rajan (Pradeep Nair), who is a police officer working in the city. The story begins with Charlie's trip to his family's ancestral house with Charlie's elder daughter, Leela (Manju Warrier) who is also the manager of Charlie's home in city, to join her father for his birthday celebrations. Charlie wants Leela to marry the grandson of his mother, who is about to get married in one week's time. However when they reach there, Charlie notices that there are many arrangements being made for the auspicious occasion without informing him about it. Reluctantly, Leela goes on searching for the missing invitations and sends an invitation to the groom's house. On their search, they run into someone working at the mansion and his own son who tries to snatch their invitation from them. They also see a girl running away from there with some papers which she had presumably stolen from the wedding venue. Later they meet up with Peter (Haripad Achari), their old friend who does not want to be part of this wedding and is doing everything possible to avoid it and he also tries to snatch their invitation forcefully. Charlie's son Rajan, who also comes to the wedding venue, constantly tries to persuade his father not to attend. Later when Charlie arrives at the venue, he sees his own flesh and blood marrying someone else. He bangs on the door of the room where they are having their wedding ceremony and threatens them that everything will be wiped away if they do not marry him again. Later, when Charlie is talking with Leela in his private box inside the marriage hall, he is constantly observed by Rajan who constantly puts pressure on him. He makes Charlie realize how this is going to ruin his reputation and says if he had turned up before the wedding, their family would have cut all relations with him. A furious Rajan starts a brawl with Charlie and tells him to leave the place immediately, as he had already spoilt his life by not being there for him at his need of time. As they are fighting on the stage inside the hall, their father-son fight is observed by everyone there as well as by Rajan's wife Shruthi (Priya Anand) and Leela. cfa1e77820
